Woman creates a fire, charged with arson

A woman was arrested for arson after setting an apartment building on fire.

Yolanda Charles, 46, was arrested when officers determined that she created a fire on purpose.

The fire was reported at 6:02pm on Saturday.

Firefighters were able to quickly extinguished the fire. The fire was contained, and the other residents were able to re-enter their homes.

Charles was charged with arson and reckless endangerment. She is being held on a $50,000 bond and will be arraigned on September 19.
